Three Floyds Alpha King

The long standing flag ship beer from one of Indiana’s great breweries, is as great today as ever. A touch of Munich malt gives it an attractive orange glow and provides a rich canvas for loads of classic American hops.P1010751

Aroma: medium-high grapefruit-peel like hops, medium piney hops, low dank and dried pineapple complexity to hops, medium-low grainy and toasty malt, low red delicious apple ester
Appearance: deep burnt orange, excellent clarity, frothy rich cream colored head with excellent retention leaves thick lace
Flavor: medium-high juicy tangerine hop flavor with low piney complexity dominates, medium-high hop bitterness, medium-low bready and toasty malt with a hint of burnt sugar, low pear ester;  finishes dry, medium grapefruit and low pine flavors linger with low malty-sweet note and bitterness growing from medium to high as other flavors fade.
Mouthfeel: medium body, medium-high carbonation, medium soft velvety creaminess, very low astringency, low warmth
Overall: A bright hoppy American Strong Pale Ale with a rich juicy malt and ester base creating perfect harmony.
Impact: medium-high
